Free Parking
Godafoss Waterfall is a popular stop on Iceland’s famous ring road, and ample parking spots are available here, though in peak summer season you may need to be patient.

Godafoss Parking Fee (Free!)
Though some popular Icelandic attractions have started implementing parking fees, at the time of this writing, parking at Godafoss remains free!
Godafoss Parking Hours of Operation
Both parking lots are open 24×7 throughout the year, but note that the restaurant and cafe, and the restrooms within these establishments, are typically open from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm, but the hours of operation vary depending on the season.
Western Parking Lot
Located on the western side of the Skjálfandafljót River, the western parking lot is adjacent to the main viewing area and the visitor center. This lot has large parking areas for tour buses and about 80 spots for cars.
From the Ring Road, turn onto Godafoss Road (Godafossvegur), and this parking lot is visible from the main road.

Eastern Parking Lot
Exit onto Road 844 towards the Godafoss Cafe Bistro and Fossholl Guesthouse & Restaurant for the eastern parking lot.
The eastern parking lot is a short drive and on your right. This lot is a bit smaller, with about 70 parking spots.

Godafoss Pedestrian Bridge
A pedestrian walking bridge over the river connects the west and east banks of the river (see map above).

Both views of Godafoss waterfall are definitely worth it, and the trails to the viewpoints start from the car parks.
Backup Parking
In the rare event that both parking lots are full, which may happen in peak summer season, the Cafe and Gift shop have a large parking lot as well, but be sure to step inside and order something.
